My wife accidentaly started the microwave last night with nothing in it - she meant to set the timer. It ran for about 10 seconds and put out a pretty bad sound and smell before my wife hit “stop”. She also said the microwave had been sparking. One of the wheels on the carousel seems to have partially melted and burned.

Is the microwave still safe to use if it is completely cleaned out?

It’s really strange! There is a metal plate on the side wall that starts sparking and burning (it makes a humming and buzzing sound), only when I put in a certain pork sausage.

It’s like someone is inside the microwave welding! Very strange.
and I don’t place any metal in with it. I’ve even tried it with no plate just the meat itself and it still sparks. All other food heats up fine.

This is the first rice cooker I’ve owned, and so I bought a lower-end model, one that lacks a non-stick pan. So, when rice is cooked in it, it sticks, and this creates a scrub-fest at the end of the meal. Other than buying a new rice cooker, one with a non-stick pan and other amenities, what can I do?
I’ll try a couple of the suggested methods before choosing a best answer, thanks!

Is brown rice a good part of a healthy diet or should it be substituted?

Maybe switching from rice to oats every other day would be best? Also I heard that eating rice raw is healthier, is this true? Because this would be much more convinient than waiting 40 minutes for it to cook.
