It’s really strange! There is a metal plate on the side wall that starts sparking and burning (it makes a humming and buzzing sound), only when I put in a certain pork sausage.

It’s like someone is inside the microwave welding! Very strange.
and I don’t place any metal in with it. I’ve even tried it with no plate just the meat itself and it still sparks. All other food heats up fine.

This is the first rice cooker I’ve owned, and so I bought a lower-end model, one that lacks a non-stick pan. So, when rice is cooked in it, it sticks, and this creates a scrub-fest at the end of the meal. Other than buying a new rice cooker, one with a non-stick pan and other amenities, what can I do?
I’ll try a couple of the suggested methods before choosing a best answer, thanks!

Is there a time to microwave leftover from the refigerator which will assure that they are safe to eat? I know boiling something or baking it for so long will kill bacteria and germs. I don’t know how long I should leave last nights mac and cheese in the microwave to make sure I don’t get food poisoning. I don’t normally have a food thermometor available. I’m asking this based on an average wattage microwave.
Some foods, like meats, are just too tough if microwaved for too long. If they are precooked and just being warmed, does microwaving them for 15 or 30 seconds assure their safety?
thanks.
